This site will contain information on Iowa’s natural hazards and how to survive them. Information will be obtained from the National Weather Service, Federal Emergency Management Agency and the State Office of Emergency Management in Des Moines, Iowa. This site contains the addresses of many of the weather sites used by your Emergency Management Agency during severe weather.

The new Veteran’s Memorial Park will have a Police Officer, Fire Fighter and EMS section that will be in addition to honoring all of our Warriors that have served in the armed forces. You can purchase a memorial brick to be laid in the park with your special person’s information on it. A Veteran, Police Officer, Fire Fighter or EMS Provider that has served honorably and has ties to Emmet County is eligible to have a brick in their name.Cost of a brick is $100.

Emmet County Emergency Management has a local information radio system that they are developing. It is a solar powered low watt radio system designed to broadcast local information. Right now it is broadcasting information on summer vacation safety, what to do with household hazardous material and other local information. It can be heard within an 8 mile radius of Estherville on 1620 AM. We will be adding more information in the future and we are looking for people who would like to volunteer to work on this project.
